Shmeichel Woodworks Inc. / Veneziano Furniture is a woodworkshop located in Montréal Nord, Québec. With more than 30 years of operation, we are proud to carry on the fine-furniture-making tradition and bring it towards new directions. We are looking for an artisanal furniture designer to aid in the following tasks:
- Document furniture currently produced furniture in digital format
- Capture design intention to generate new furniture from old designs
- Modify designs to accommodate old and new method of production
- Create new furniture designs
- Work with different designers, decorators, and clients to create mass-produced and custom furniture
- Provide documents and illustrations to assist design, production, and sale
- Document current condition of construction site to inform design and sale
- Keep track of new technology to improve current products
- Quality control
- Design and write marketing material
Educational level : Any
Languague: English; French will be a plus
Suggested competency:
- Solidworks
- Autocad 3D / Rhino
- 3Ds Max / Maya / Keyshot / Similar vizualization tool
- Adobe Photoshop
- Adobe Illustrator
- Adobe Indesign
- Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of production method & process
- Knowledge of history of styles
- Sketching ability
